2014 Amelia Island
by Jeff Burgy

Monday March, 10 -- It was overcast and cool on Friday, but most of the activity was indoors at the Ritz or in the RM Auction tent. Saturday was cool but sunny, and then Sunday turned into a picture-perfect Florida sunshine day with the temperature in the mid-seventies - couldn't have asked for anything better.

Two freshly restored 1965 Shelby Mustangs were featured in this year's Amelia Island Concours. GT350s numbers 5R002 and 5S003 were on display along with Cobras CSX3006 and CSX3133. All four of these machines looked better than new, and the crowd was treated to hear the roar of the mighty "race-prepped" 289 as Chuck Cantwell drove R-Model #5R002 past the reviewing stage following Peter Brock in 5S003.
