A request for volunteers from the SAAC-MCR Membership

Livonia, Michigan - April 3, 2012 -  Our club, founded in 1972 as the Cobra Club, then reformed as the Motor City Region of SAAC in 1975, is 40 years old this year ( 37 years old as a SAAC region ).

In this time in history, our club has accumulated numerous issues / volumes of the club's publication, Shelby Life, in printed form. Our current archive of these publications only dates back to 2003 on this website. This year I would like to change that.

I'm looking for a few good volunteers who are willing to work with our Club Historian, John Guyer and convert the archive of Shelby Life Magazines, from the 1970s up until the year 2002. John's collection is pretty complete, up until the year 1999. For the years 2000 through 2002, John doesn't have those issues in the archive, they will need to be located through other individual collections.

As a volunteer in this effort, you would be helping to convert these printed documents into .PDF (Adobe Portable Document format) for inclusion in the website archive. To serve as a permanent reference.

I would like to get this project COMPLETED by the close of 2012, so don't be fooled, this is a MAJOR project and will require a lot of effort on your part.

If you are interested, simply email me at the address below and we'll get started. Your only requirement would be to know how to create the .PDF documents from the printed documents, and already have the necessary hardware / software ( or access to) for completing this project.

Thank you in advance for your help and support.

Regards,
