Ford v Ferrari
Screenings Suggest It’s An Oscar Contender
It’s been a long time since we’ve been as excited about a car movie that
is based on real events as we are about Ford v Ferrari. We’ve talked about
the flick a few times, and it is set to hit theaters in November of 2019.
Ahead of its general launch date, it is being test-screened to some lucky
moviegoers and word is the film is excellent.

Reports indicate that Ford v Ferrari was test screened in New York City
and word is that the film is very much a Golden Globes contender.
Audiences suggest that the movie might also be an Oscar contender. One
person who has seen the films says that it is engaging in the moment, but
it’s long at over two and a half hours.
Despite its lengthy runtime, the viewer notes that the movie moves quickly
because of “sharp editing” and Christian Bale and Matt Damon are said to
have plenty of chemistry on screen. The racing scenes are said to be very
good and action-packed, but the actors are the highlight of the film. Bale
apparently gets lots of screen time playing his hot-tempered character.
Some viewers who have seen the film note that it is similar to the Ron
Howard flick Rush but Ford v Ferrari is said to be better with thicker
drama. We liked Rush and thought it was a good movie if Ford v Ferrari is
better we can’t wait to see it. The launch date of November 15th suggests
that the studio behind the film, 20th Century Fox and director James
Mangold expect the movie to be an Oscar contender. The film is expected to
premiere at Telluride and Toronto festivals.
